Archauz U-Kompagniet

Archauz U-kompagniet (Archauz Youth Company) is a contemporary dance company for young talented dancers considering a future career within dance and wanting to experience how it is to work as a professional dancer in a company. Investing in young talents is an important step of developing dance in the society and Archauz is one out of a few places in Denmark offering this kind of physical and artistic development of talents. The Leader of Archauz U-kompagniet is Johan Ohlson.

Close contact to the professional world

The company has a close contact to the professional dance world where dancers and choreographers, both Danish and international, visit the company giving workshops and choreographing performances. By offering young dancers the opportunity to practice dance at an elite level Choreographic Center Archauz helps the dancers develop both technically and as an artist. Members of the U-kompagniet also get valuable experience from the work process and performances.

Archauz U-kompagniet rehears every Monday and Wednesday from 4.30-7pm and on a few weekends every semester. Being a member of Archauz U-Kompagniet can thus be combined with normal school. The dancers of the company get to work with modern dance, improvisation, partner work, and composition.

Internship and stage
experience

Archauz is offering internships to selected dancers in U-kompagniet for the productions Pandora's Gift and Von Baden in the spring.

Archauz U-kompagniet is also out of house a lot taking part in different events. During the fall U-kompagniet danced in I Do Art, Culture Night, a flash mob in Ridderhuset and as assistants and dancers in the production Alter Ego. In the spring they will dance in ILT, SPOT, Day of Dance, Pandora Gift and a production with Von Baden.

Archauz U-Kompagniet prioritizes dancers with their own style and personality as well as dancers with the discipline to meet the demands required in a professional dance company.

Admission to the company is free, but dancers sign a one-year contract, if accepted. The contract runs from mid-August to early June, with a break for Christmas.

Archauz U-kompagniet is for young talents of age 15-25, but applicants who fall outside this age group will be considered on a case-by-case basis. ??
