Best Before by Rimini Protokoll

Experience Best Before - a show where the audience is a vital part of the plot.


Audience fit in the show 'Best Before' each with a game controller and have the task of managing an avatar / computer game character who can be seen on a canvas on stage. The Avatars grow up as individuals in the virtual community Bestland and get assigned names, hobbies, activities and opinions - depending on the choices the audience take for them. The Video game experience in 'Best Before' complements the idea through a panel of persons appearing as themselves. Based on their own life stories and fateful choices they challenge the audience to reflect on how life choices have consequences. In this way Rimini Protokoll creates both a documentary theater performance and a common computer experience.
